Welcome to the Finger Lakes! Our theme song:

In a town this size, there's no place to hide
Everywhere you go, you meet someone you know...
In a smokey bar, in the backseat of your car
In your own little house, someone's sure to find you out
What you do and what you think
What you eat and what you drink...

Government-built cars missing brake pads

Obama with Sonic in Detroit

Customers may have noticed unusually long stopping distances when driving brand new Chevrolet Sonic rental cars.  Turns out taxpayer financed GM employees shipped the tiny sedans without brakes pads!
General Motors is recalling 4,296 Chevrolet Sonic subcompact models to inspect for missing brake pads. The missing part could lengthen the stopping distance, potentially contributing to a crash, the company said today in a statement.
Of course, theses things happen in government work.  What's missing, in addition to the critical brake components, are headlines like this:
Congress blasts Toyota for not investigating sudden acceleration, focusing on legal defense instead
We remind readers that the Toyota "problem" was determined to be fiction, pushed by union-backed politicians.  The missing brakes pads, on the other hand, were actually missing.
